You can use existing maps on it, if your termination is LM you will get lifetime updates, but I believe they are blocked for cracked maps, so ask the author of this topic to send you the link from version 4.60 of your device ...

 

ran the patch from Korabi OK

 

then formatted to 64GB microsd FAT32. Created Garmin folder in root directory and put all the content from 2020.30 maps (from http://gpsclube.com/forum/index.php?/topic/4617-garmin-city-navigator-north-america-nt-202030/ ) (JCV, SID, SQLite folders and gmapprom.img) in the folder. Put the microsd in Garmin and turned it on. When trying to do a Search, got an error 'Map data is not ready or available "....?

 

just curious, once patched with the patch from Korabi will ib able to update my maps or firmware with garmin express? that way i don't need to download maps.

 

talking about garmin express, odd enough to see that under garmin express it said my firmware is 4.40 after patching. perhaps i download the wrong patch from Korabi. thought it was 4.60

Update 1: within GarminExpress, i updated to firmware 4.60. after that it recognized my maps from the microSD card. gonna take it on the road in the morning to see if it is working ok. will update again. thanx.

Update 2: so took for a drive this morning, so far so good. will continue to test. thank you so much again.

Em “Configurações avançadas“, role a lista para baixo e marque a opção “Mostrar arquivos, pastas e unidades ocultas“. Por último, clique em “OK” para concluir.

 

Depois terá que desmarcar a opção de Ocultar arquivos do sistema operacional

ahhh haaaa, it worked!! it's the "Hide protected system files" that is the culprit.

Você pode usar os mapas existentes nele, se sua terminação for LM você terá atualizações vitalícias, porém acredito ser bloqueados para mapas crackeados, então peça ao autor deste tópico para lhe enviar o link da versão 4.60 de seu aparelho...

thank you for the response. I did try the 1st link to access .System but I still cannot see it. I can see other hidden folders but not .System.

 

I will take a look at the 2nd link to install new maps later tonight.

Hello, I am so glad i found this site coz i really need help.

 

i was given a Nuvi 57 with regional US maps (2020.30) but I am in Canada. Can you please provide me with instructions for how to install 2020.30 North American maps so I can use both in Canada and US.

 

questions:

1) I plugged my Nuvi 57 into the computer but I can't find .System so how can I put the Garmin folder in .System

2) can i still keep the current regional US maps? Where can I get the North American 2020.30 maps and where do I put the maps on a microsd? which size is 2GB big enough for NA maps?
